Rowdy Rathore (Akshay Kumar) is a small time rowdy and crook who is involved into theft and other petty criminal activities.
Rowdy Rathore is crazy for performing daredevil acts. Out of nowhere one day a girl appears in his life and claims to be her father. Rowdy Rathore gets the shock of his life and goes into coma.
After recovering from this sudden shock, he decided to find out the truth behind girl's claim. After some investigation he found that the girl is the daughter of IPS Police officer Vikram Singh Rathore (also Akshay Kumar). Vikram Rathore is Rowdy Rathore's lost twin brother.
Rowdy and Vikram had an emotional homecoming. Vikram Rathore is murdered by underworld gangsters infront of Rowdy. Rowdy Rathore decided to take revenge and takes place Vikram's position both at home and in the police force. He then go on finding out who killed his twin brother Vikram.
The film is a remake of the superhit Telugu film Vikramarkudu, which was also remade in Tamil as Siruthai, another superhit.
